Fire Safety Inspections

The Roebuck Fire Department would like to offer each homeowner or renter within our District a Courtesy home fire inspection. We would inspect your residents for potential fire hazards and offer suggestions to prevent a fire from starting in your home. Some of the areas that we will be looking at; Electrical cords and outlets, kitchen hazards, smoke detectors, fire extinguishers, storage of chemicals and flammable gas, and etc. 

Each year our department inspects over 300 businesses within our district. We have a drawing and information sheet on every business. We keep these in each of our fire engine. This Pre fire plan contains a drawing that shows interior and exterior walls, doors, attic access, any hazards or chemical, steps, electrical panel and other information that we may need at the scene of a fire. The department looks for violations of the Fire Codes and any life safety hazards. The reason we inspect businesses and homes is to help prevent fire fatalities and property loss. Statistics show that fire fatalities are not often in the work place, there in residential homes! The Roebuck Fire District is not looking for a floor plan of your home, were asking for your permission so we can educate you on Fire Safety and suggest some Fire Prevention tips. Every year hundreds of lives are lost in residential fires due to something that could have been easily prevented. We would gladly accept your request to conduct a Courtesy Home Fire Inspection for Fire Hazards and give you suggestions on what you could do to be fire safe.
